Installing KLT ATLAS from an existing install (without KLTLSmanager)

3/18/2019
Windows 7 x64. It should be the same for Win 10 although I haven't tried it.

Install and setup the NVIDIA Quadro drivers.

  • If not already installed, install the NVIDIA Quadro drivers (reboot after install)
  • Open the NVIDIA control panel
    • Right click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel from the context menu or, look for it in Windows Control Panel.
  • Select Manage 3D Settings
  • Make the following changes:
    • Stereo – Enable ON
    • Stereo – Display Mode (set NVIDIA 3D Vision for your hardware) If your monitor requires an external emitter, then select On-board DIN (with NVIDIA 3D Vision), otherwise select Generic Active Stereo (with NVIDIA 3D Vision)
    • Triple buffering ON
  • Below are the settings for my working system (Windows 7):
  • In the NVIDIA Control Panel, select Change Resolution
    • Set the resolution to the native setting for the monitor.
    • Set the refresh rate to an appropriate setting (120Hz)

Install the ATLAS Software

Copy the Atlas directory from your existing install to the C:\ directory.

Install the VCREDIST updates

  • Install the vcredist updates by executing each one. I install them in the following order.
    • vc2005____vcredist_x86.exe
    • vc2005____vcredist_x64.exe
    • vc2005sp1_vcredist_x86.exe
    • vc2005sp1_vcredist_x64.exe
    • july2009vc2005sp1_vcredist_x86.exe
    • july2009vc2005sp1_vcredist_x64.exe
    • april2011vc2005sp1_vcredist_x64.exe
    • nov2011vc2005sp1_vcredist_x86.exe
    • vc2010____vcredist_x86.exe
    • vc2010____vcredist_x64.exe
    • vc2010sp1_vcredist_x64.exe
    • vc2013____vcredist_x86.exe
    • vc2013____vcredist_x64.exe
    • vc2015U1___vcredist_x64.exe
    • vc2015U1___vcredist_x86.exe

Install the Sentinel Protection Software

  • The Sentinel program makes sure your license is appropriate for the KLT software you want to use.
  • KLT recommends that the Sentinel Protection Sever, Sentinel Keys Server, and Sentinel Security Runtime options, not be installed.
  • Rebooting at this point is probably a good idea.

Install the 3D Mouse Driver (if necessary)

Get to work.
